Travellers to Greece from Romania, Bulgaria must Show Negative Coronavirus Test
https://greece.greekreporter.com/202...onavirus-test/
Greek health authorities have decided that travellers from Romania and Bulgaria arriving to Greece must present negative Covid-19 test results otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the country.
The measure will apply from the morning of Tuesday, July 28, until August 4. The required PCR tests must have been performed up to 72 hours before their arrival to Greecce.
Excluded from the measure are Greek citizens, holders of residence permits and those who travel for essential reasons.
At the same time, travellers from the above countries must complete the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) at least 24 hours before arrival.
As the General Secretariat for Civil Protection points out, the government – in cooperation with the competent services – continuously analyzes and evaluates Covid-19 data, so that the opening to foreign visitors can be done safely and without risk to public health.
Mega-yacht owners pick Greece this summer due to low virus numbers
Despite the crisis in tourism and travel, Greece is currently drawing a special category of traveler: owners of mega-yachts, that is, yachts over 50 meters in length (164 ft).
According to Bloomberg, there were 145 mega-yachts in Greece’s seas in mid-August, up from 132 in August 2019 and 135 in July 2020.
And these are boats used by their owners, not rented out to others.
It appears that the very rich owners of mega-yachts are shunning the Western Mediterranean because of the mass coronavirus outbreaks in France, Italy and Spain.
Greece is not the only country to have profited from this: Croatia and Turkey have too.

German tourists eye Greece this fall
https://www.ekathimerini.com/257104/...eece-this-fall
Despite the resurgence of the coronavirus in Europe and the start of the school year, a significant number of Europeans are still going on holidays and many are opting for Greece. This country appears to be the top choice of German tourists currently picking their destinations for last-minute bookings, a conference of German tour operators heard in Thessaloniki.
“Greece and Cyprus are the two destinations still selling and the number of customers keeps growing week after week. If this trend continues, bookings over this period will be higher than last year’s,” said Halina Strzyzewska, head of the Greek and Cypriot department at German tour operator FTI Group, speaking at the German GVW workshop “Thessaloniki-Halkidiki 2020.”
This trend was confirmed by the head of TUI Destination Experiences for Greece, Giorgos Dimas, who stated that “Greece is the number 1 destination for TUI this year, especially in last-minute bookings.”
TUI reported that demand is focused on areas well-known to German tourists, such as Crete, Rhodes and Kos, and to a lesser extent the Peloponnese. However there are accommodation supply problems, as many hotels have now closed or about to do so.
